Quiet Serenity

I love capturing these soft quiet images. These will all be studies for future paintings and art pieces.

the French Quarter Muses

I got a bunch of cool shots when I went into the quarter with the fam...I'm loving this one, and it may end up being a painting of sorts! I love that patina...the color is brilliant!

Gumball Machine Jesus and His Crew

I totally found the Holy Grail of gumball machines the other day, filled with all these little plastic Jesus's, Mary's, Virgin's of Guadalupe, etc. so, of course, I had to get a few! I can't wait to include them into some art projects!!!! And although I love Gumball Machine Jesus, and his cohorts Virgin of Guadalupe, and I-forget-his-name, I truly love my Mary with the Man Hands! LOL

Magnolias

The magnolia tree at my brother's house...

Broken Wing

I got some neat shots at the Covington cemetery the other day, including these of a little angel with a broken wing. I found her wing on the ground a few yards away....

Hibiscus

ok, so it's not part of today's bustier series, but they were there, and made for 2 really pretty pics, so here they are.... ready to be watercolored.... I really should buy one of these next year for my yard.

Crazy Purple bustier

Yeah.....I still don't know what this is.....but I like it.... So these pics have inspired me today. Look for some painted versions of them in the next day or so at my art blog www.glitzink.blogsot.com It will be the perfect way to start trying out my watercolors and fill my countless empty journals!

Frida bustier

Here's a sassy little number with pink and red roses and black lace...LOVE IT!!!!

Camo bustier

This whole picture cracks me up, from the camo inspired outfit, to the duck head dress, to the loads of miscellaneous crap spilling out of a hardware/army supply store (i.e. guitars and straw hats, because every good hardware/army supply store has those!), and finally...possibly my favorite part of the picture...the sign behind the dressform saying that MRE's are back in stock. Do people really buy those? and they're back in stock, meaning that they had previously run out....hmmm....i did not get the memo that MRE's were the new must have for the back-to-school season. NOTE TO SELF: Dig up old box of MRE's from Hurricane Katrina...vintage MRE's must SURELY be worth a small fortune....

Orange Bustier

I went back downtown with my camera for some shots of the other bustier mannequins. A lot of stores still had theirs inside, so I didn't get shots of those....maybe this weekend they'll all be out. This one was my favorite, still....

Covington Bustiers

I saw this on my way into the art store this morning, and snapped a quick pic with my phone. I think all the stores have one to display, but several weren't open yet. I'll go back this afternoon with my camera and try to get some shots of a few more....it's the bustier art show- what a cool idea!I love the colors in this one! and the red glass heart hanging from the chest.

Winsor & Newton

Winsor & Newton aren't my favorite paints, by any means, but they happened to be out on the table in a pile, so *click*click*click* went the camera. It's an ok photo, i guess. Nothing soul-stirring.....

Another brush shot....

The brushes were fun in color too! I really wish I had Photoshop.....

Journals to fill....

I love to buy journals! I love them all...basic journals, watercolor journals, odd sizes, colored paper, anything goes! I buy them constantly....now I need to fill them!

Tools of the Trade

A close up of my paint brushes. Most of these are new....I need to break them in. I like the darks and light in the metal band around that brush in the center. This would be a great image for a watercolor value study.

Glitz*ography

I have decided to put my camera to use, and take at least one photograph everyday. A way of documenting my life, from the simple and mundane to the absolutely awe-inspiring things I encounter in my day-to-day.......
